About the Portrait

This is an 8 x 7 drawing of a beautiful cat called Padstow. Sadly Padstow passed away at a very young age and so this portrait will serve as a wonderful memory for all of the family.

Melanie : This is the latest cat portrait that I've completed and it's a lovely cat called Padstow and you should be able to see the scale of the drawing from the pencils on the drawing. If I go in slightly closer you'll be able to see the fine details that I've created. The eyes are everything in this portrait of Padstow, my shadows going over the drawing a little bit because it's evening here but it should be able to give you a better idea of what the drawing is like and so this one's going to be packed up and sent to the client early next week and I'm on the next portrait so there'll be another video coming along soon I hope you enjoy it. About the Portrait

Here is the video of Milly & Molly and Purdy’s paintings. Alan, the owner of Milly & Molly and Purdy, came to collect his portraits and it was great to meet him, we were was so happy he was thrilled with the paintings. We are absolutely thrilled with the frames, as you can see they are both framed to match each other using a narrow inner linen slip and the Ornate Pewter moulding which in different lighting is a mix between gold and silver. Its just beautiful. If you would like to see the portraits in more detail, pop over to our oil gallery page and you can also view some lovely testimonial photos of Alan as well as his wife Amanda and the paintings in situ here.

Melanie : Here are the two latest paintings and Nick has created, the first is a 26" by 14" painting is of two lovely cats called Milyl and Molly and the 12 x 10 smaller painting is Purdy. Unfortunantly Purdy isnt woth us any longer so this will be a beautiful memorial painting for the whole family. If we go in closer, both paintings have been framed with a wheat coloured inner linen slip ornate pewter frame which actually stunning. You can see the coloring which goes beautifully with the wheat coloued slip. ainting very natural very natural in color, almost a limited palette in the background which allows the main subject to be in full focus. You can see the detail Nicholas has created in the eyes, the fur, the whiskers. Its absolutly beautiful. They have both been pained on an Italian linen cavas and if I go closer, you can see Milly and Molly, the eyes and whiskers and the fine paint strokes. Also some nice sharp in focsu grass in the foreground. The client coming to studio to collect the portraits today. I have taken plenty of photos and this video and hopefully by the end of the day they will be with the owners in their home. I hope you like video and hope you like the cats too!

Melanie : This is my most recent portrait to come off of my drawing board and it's a pencil montage of a cat called Gilli. If I go in slightly closer you should be able to see it in a little more detail. it was really really great to draw I loved it, particularly the central study which is my favourite along with this study down in the bottom right hand corner. It's been really really good fun to put it all together and also to design as well. The portrait is framed in a black and smoke coloured and mount / matt, I'm not quite sure if you can see the mount very clearly along with the black frame however I think it works beautifully. The portrait is for a surprise and it's heading off to Hong Kong. I'm going to pack it up in a minute and send it on its way so hopefully the recipient will be thrilled. Thank you for watching!
